The Cases menu includes the following selections:
When you initiate a new case, query a case that you are already on, or send in a follow-up filing on a case you are on (such as a notice of appearance) that case number is added to your My Cases list.
To list your cases:
Or
Select Cases > My Cases from the Home Page menu.
From your case list, you can:
To delete cases from your My Cases list, click the box next to that case in the Delete column to mark that case with a check mark, then click the Delete button. A prompt appears informing you that you will no longer receive notifications for a deleted case and that it will be removed from your My Cases list. Click the OK button to confirm the deletion.
Although cases currently marked with a check are removed from your eFlex account, they still remain on the court server.
Once you have eFiled on a case, its case number is stored in a database with your username linked to it. When someone sends a follow-up submission on that case, the eFiling system sends you an e-mail message and posts a Notification of Electronic Filing (NEF) to your account.
You only receive NEF notifications for cases that appear on your My Cases list. If you want to be included as a participant on a case that is not on your list, you can eFile a Notice of Appearance on the case. A clerk will review the Notice of Appearance, and if it is approved the clerk will add you to the case.
Note: Notifications are not permanent. They are deleted after a set period of time, as determined by the court. Also, they do not replace current court rules and procedures which require filers to send paper notifications to the parties involved in the case. It's a good idea to check your notifications regularly, download any documents associated with them, and then delete the old notifications.
To display your notifications:
An unopened letter icon appears for any notifications that you have not yet reviewed. Once you review a notification, that icon changes to an opened envelope. After you review a notification, you can delete it from your list.
Each Notification includes links to any documents currently associated with that court submission. You should download those documents for your own records.
Note: Receiving a courtesy notification does not necessarily guarantee that the clerk will accept the submission. If there is something wrong with the submission, the clerk can still reject it. However, a courtesy notification does alert you as to the intent of the other parties on the case.
Some documents that you file require court fees. The final step before submitting anything to the court is to review the data and documents in your submissions and pay any associated fees.
When you review filing charges, eFlex calls the case management system to calculate fees and displays those fees on the Review and Approve page. If a document requires a court fee, you will be required to enter your credit card payment information. eFlex calls the payment process, records the payments, and tracks all payment information for the past twelve months. However, any cash or check payments you make directly to the court are not tracked by eFlex.
To review filing charges:
By default, any filing charges for the current month are displayed. You can select a different month from the Report Month drop-down list. The information displayed for each payment made during that month includes the case caption (or case title), my case number, court case number, description (case type), date the account fees were paid, account number for method of payment, authorization code, and the fee amount paid.
